How booking requests work for employers
Sending a booking request does not confirm the job unless the worker has trusted auto-accept enabled. Sizoro shows the exact response deadline before you send and again after your card hold is approved.
A request is not yet a confirmed booking
A manual request becomes confirmed only when the worker accepts it. Until then, do not rely on the worker arriving. If that worker uses trusted auto-accept and the live checks pass, Sizoro confirms the booking immediately instead.
How long a worker has to respond
The response window depends on how far away the job is. Active response time runs from 07:00 to 20:00 SAST and pauses overnight. Every deadline is capped at one hour before the job. The exact date and time shown on your request is authoritative.
| Time before the job | Worker response window |
|---|---|
| At least 24 hours | Up to 4 active hours |
| 6 to 24 hours | Up to 1 active hour |
| 2 to 6 hours | Up to 20 active minutes |
| Under 2 hours | No manual request is left open |
| Trusted auto-accept | Confirmed immediately when live checks pass |
A card preauthorisation is not a charge
When you send a funded request, your bank reserves the displayed amount on your card. Sizoro does not capture that amount merely because you sent the request. The hold protects both sides while the worker decides and the service is carried out.
If the worker does not accept in time
Sizoro automatically expires the request and releases the full authorisation. You are not charged for an unaccepted request. Your bank may take additional time to remove the pending amount from its display, even after Sizoro has released it. The expired request remains available under Bookings → History.
Cancellation after acceptance is different
Once a worker accepts, the booking is confirmed and the normal cancellation policy applies. A late employer cancellation can incur a fee because the worker reserved that time. The booking detail shows the applicable outcome before you confirm a cancellation.
Finding past and terminal requests
Open Bookings → History and filter by Completed, Cancelled, Expired, Declined or Disputes. An expired request shows its reason and that the authorisation was released; it does not show payment, cancellation or work actions.
Employer booking questions
Am I charged when a request expires?
No. An unaccepted request is not charged and Sizoro releases the full card authorisation.
Why can I still see the pending amount?
Banks control how quickly a released hold disappears from their app or statement. The booking detail confirms when Sizoro released it.
Will repeated cancellations automatically deactivate my employer profile?
No. Sizoro does not automatically deactivate employers based on a cancellation count. Individual cancellations can still have the fee or review outcome described in the cancellation policy.
